Halloween 2007

Halloween is approaching and I have drawn these 3 drawings for this occasion.
The Witch
In this drawing the witch is flying on her broomstick with her cat on her back. She is quite old now so she couldn't fly in high speed. Look at her face, she is in agony from her back pain.
Thai Style Halloween
This is the second drawing, it features Thai traditional ghost Krahung and Krasue. Krahung is a male ghost who uses winnowing baskets as his wings. Krasue is a female ghost who loves to eat dirty things. The mode of her travel is quite bizarre, she sheds her outer body and fly with her intestines hanging in mid air!
The Witch Wanderer
This witch is quite young, she could walk swiftly through the night. Dressed in Victorian style clothings, she looks mysterious and threatening. But it's not like that at all. The fact is she's very funny and loves to sing. Her face might look distorted but only because she's singing. The song? Happy Wanderer, ofcourse. " I love to go a-wandering along the mountain track, and as I go I love to sing, my bats are on my back.!"

Moo Surfing

Lately Moo has been so absorbed browsing the internet that sometimes he doesn't hear what other people say. And because now at this age, (I'm not going to reveal his age cause he keeps telling everyone that he's 25!) his eyesight has become weird, it's both short-sighted and far-sighted, he has to lean very very close to the monitor. So I drew this sketch, hoping to give it to him on his 4.. eh 25th birthday on October18. However when that day came, I changed my mind and bought him a MOTO RAZR instead. Reasons? Because his old LG is so worn out that he might have to throw it away soon and secondly, this new one has very BIG graphic and numbers display. I hope that this time he'll instantly know who calls him or whom he's calling to.

Rung's New Hairstyle

I really don't know what runs in Rung's mind when he tells everyone that he'll wear his hair long. Everyone wants him to have his hair cut, except himself.

Luang Kor

Few days ago Kor sent his Multiply message to tell me that he's now entered monkhood during Buddhist's Lent. And there's a picture of him dressing in monk's robe with shaved head in front of his computer! So I wrote to tell him that computer surfing is also considered a sin !!! Hope he believes me.

Aterballetto's Romeo and Juliet

Last week I went to see "Romeo&Juliet", a modern bellet performed by an Italian company, the Aterbaletto. This is not my first time with this company. In 1997, Aterballetto came to perform at the Bangkok Playhouse. I remember I was extremely impressed by the show. In fact I loved it very much and I always thought that this was one of the best modern ballets I had seen. I must say that, personally I don't enjoy watching contemporary dance or modern ballet very much. I mean I used to love it when I was young. But somehow, this particular genre of art stops intriguing me anymore. They all look more or less the same, be it movement, facial expression, set or costumes. However in 1997 Aterbaletto was different, it was a rare gem and I fell head over heel in love with it . The performance touched me deeply.

But 10 years have passed and this time, inspite of the fact that all dancers were still very good with their techniques and skills, the company failed to impress me. I don't know why. Maybe it's the selection of a show ( Romeo&Juliet with new interpretation? C'mon, there's nothing new in this interpretation : Love, Bondage, Passion, Emancipation , Dead, blah blah blah) Maybe it's the size of the venue, Thailand Cultural Center is very big and all impact's lost before it reached me. Maybe the seat I occupied was too far from the stage. I don't know. Sure there were some exciting moments but that moments were short-lived. These sketches are for some of those memorable moments.

This final scene is quite beautiful with LED projection to represent a waterfall.
