Lan Bronger

Lan Bronger

Lan is Axel's niece who lives in Norway. Her father is Axel's twin brother, Sigurd, whom I first met ages ago when we were both very young. At that time he lived and worked in Amsterdam. I remember walking up a very narrow stairs to his studio and I also remember the surprise I had seeing him for the first time. For although twins, Axel and Sigurd looked entirely different. While Axel looked so neat and conservative, Sigurd looked, with very long hair, very old faded jeans and very un-ironed t-shirt, like a hippy. Well, actually he was and still is an artist. He created beautiful art made from silver and gold. His wife Annalina is also an artist. I also remember the first time I saw Annalina when they came to visit Axel in Bangkok, she had a shaved head. That was decades ago and we, the Thais, at that time, were not so accustomed to seeing a bare head girl. I remember thinking, Wow ! she was cool! : ) Sigurd and Annalina adopted Lan when she was a little cute baby girl from China. Lan was born in Manchuria. Maybe this explains why she's a very very clever and a very very nice girl. Apart from the fact that her parents are both intelligent, one cannot deny that the Chineses are among the most clever races, can we? They had already invented everything while the rest of the world were still in the cave! Anyway when we first met last year, Lan seems connected to us and I feel very connected to her. The fact that we have the same jet black hair, slant eyes and small flat nose helps us to understand each other without verbal communication. She speaks only Norwegian while we speak Thai and English.
I really, really like Lan and I feel like she's my own niece. They say blood is thicker than water, maybe that rule applies to Asian blood too?
